Chris Alexander- President

Chris Alexander has 30 years of leadership experience in the sales, management and operation of domestic and international corporations. He has a wealth of payment industry experience which includes networking, creating vertical markets, manufacturing, and developing international operations.

As Chairman, President and CEO of the Hypercom Corporation from 2000 to 2005, Chris brought this diversified payments industry business back to profitability. In his role, he successfully lead the financial restructuring of the company taking it out of default; returned the company to a positive operating profit; improved margins, reduced expenses, restructured R&D, improved lagging quality, and established off-shore manufacturing.

Mr Alexander became CEO after serving as COO of Hypercom’s Transaction Systems Group with responsibility for sales, R&D and manufacturing. By 2000 Chris grew this business unit to revenues of over $280 million, placing Hypercom as the number one manufacturer of payment terminals in the industry. From 1993 - 1997 Chis was COO of Hypercom’s European and Latin American Operations and was directly responsible for successfully expanding the Corporation’s business and developing these two regions as sales production leaders. 

Prior to joining Hypercom, Mr. Alexander served as CEO of Dataplex, an information technology business, and Famous Recipe Fried Chicken, a regional food franchise chain. Chris currently serves on the boards of NeuroRecovery, Inc., a bio-med company, Arizona Baseball Charities and the Executive Committee of TriSource, Inc., a payments company. Chris specializes in international growth and turnaround business situations.

 

Craig Gieler - Vice President

Mr. Gieler has over 30 years experience in the banking and payment industry including employment in retailing, banking, transaction processing, manufacturing, and consulting organizations. Craig most recently worked for the Hypercom Corporation as Vice President of Marketing for Global Operations. 

Prior to joining Hypercom, Mr. Gieler served in key management positions at VeriFone. His responsibilities included development of the company’s global strategic plans, global new business development, market intelligence and market development.

He also served as Division Vice President of Debit Card Services for National Data Corporation where he was responsible for development of the company’s transaction processing program for large retailers. Mr. Gieler was President of International Banking Technologies (IBT) the industry leader in Supermarket Banking and was Director of Financial Services for The Kroger Company where he implemented new financial services including the 1st major US debit card program.

He also was responsible for Price Waterhouse’s financial services consulting practice in Cincinnati, Ohio. The organization has since been acquired by IBM. Craig has extensive planning experience and served as Chairman of the Board of The Planning Forum. Mr. Gieler specializes in the development of new vertical markets for payment companies including international expansion and strategic planning.

William A. Dowlin - Vice President

Bill Dowlin brings more than 30 years experience in manufacturing operations, product development, supply chain management, and quality systems. He has in-depth knowledge of global multi-plant manufacturing operations, product development management, information systems, cost accounting and budgeting. Particular strengths are in product cost/process improvement, new-product introduction, supply-chain management and systems analysis.

As Executive Vice President of Product Development and Manufacturing for Hypercom Corporation, Mr. Dowlin led development and introduction of new platforms, while significantly improving the cost and performance of the established product lines. Bill’s functional scope included product development, supply-chain management, manufacturing engineering, quality assurance and distribution. In addition to Phoenix-based operations, Bill directed international supply chain and manufacturing operations in China, Brazil, Hong Kong, and Sweden. His most recent role was transitioning Hypercom’s integrated manufacturing capability to a fully-outsourced one.

Prior to joining Hypercom, Bill served as Vice President, Worldwide Manufacturing, for Symbol Technologies, from 1991 to 1997. His previous roles included directing product development and manufacturing operations for National Computer Systems, as Vice-President of Operations, Scanning Systems Division. Bill’s early experience includes 14 years with Hewlett-Packard in manufacturing, materials and engineering management roles and as Vice President Manufacturing for Sydis, Inc., a distributed computer systems startup. Mr. Dowlin holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering degree from Purdue University and a Masters in Electrical Engineering/Administration from Stanford University
